I obtained Bachelor of Engineering Degree
from Rangoon Institute of Technology, Master of Engineering Degree from Asian Institute of
Technology (AIT) and Doctor of Philosophy from National University of Singapore
(NUS). NUS degree is more recognized than AIT degree in Singapore. As a NUS
graduate, your job opportunity will be better in Singapore because your degree is
recognized in Singapore. Initially, immigration will issue you work pass status and later,
you will be granted Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) if you apply for it. Your life will
be secure in Singapore.
As an AIT graduate, your job opportunity
will be slim in Singapore because both of your Bachelor and Master
Degrees are not recognized in Singapore. If you are lucky and get an employment,
immigration will only issue you work pass status. Your future is not so bright in
Singapore especially during recession time. That is why some of the AIT graduates enrolled
in NUS for their part-time or full-time Master degree to obtain a Singapore recognized
degree.
If you settle down in US, UK, Canada,
Australia or any other country other than Singapore, NUS and AIT MBA degrees will be
treated equally. NUS have its own reputation in international level. Here I would like to
elaborate about AIT education system. AIT academic and administration policy is nothing to
do with the Thailand government who only provide space for the Institution. AIT is an
independent international academic institution funded mainly by developed countries and
world organizations. Academic and administration staff are recruited internationally.
Facilities are also up to the world standard. AIT have it own reputation in the world for
more than 40 years.
According to the statistics about 10% of the AIT graduates settled downed down in the
developed countries without suffering unreasonable discrimination on their academic degree
in the host country. If I convey some useful information RIT alumni and other Burmese
degree holders who are aiming for higher degree in this region, every minute is worth I
spend for this letter.
